CORA.RDR allows you to create a private URL for a dataset, so you can share it (allowing you to view and download files) before it's published and when it's still in draft.

To create the dataset's private URL, the user must have instance administrator or curator permissions. So, if the person who made the repository of the dataset needs the private URL, they will contact the instance admin so they can create it.

To create the private URL, follow these steps:

1. Edit the dataset

Within the dataset record, which has not yet been published, click on the "Edit Dataset" button.

2. Select "Private URL"

In the "Edit Dataset" dropdown, click "Private URL".

3.A. Create the full URL

Create a link that allows others to review this version before it is published. They will have access to all files and will be able to see all metadata, including those that identify the authorship.

3.1. In the "Unpublished Dataset Private URL" window, click on the "Create Private URL" button

3.2. The URL that was created will appear:

3.3. If you want to copy the URL, you can do so by clicking the "Copy to Clipboard" button.

3.B. Create the anonymous URL

Create a link that allows others to access an anonymized version of this preview. Metadata that could reveal authorship or the space name will not be displayed.

Note: All files will be accessible even if they are restricted. Remember to avoid putting authorship information in the README file.

3.1. In the "Unpublished Dataset Private URL" window, click on the "Create Private URL" button

3.2. The URL that was created will appear:

3.3. If you want to copy the URL, you can do so by clicking the "Copy to Clipboard" button.

4. Send the private URL to the person who made the request

To finish, just send the private URL to the person who made the request. Please note that this URL is private and cannot be published anywhere, as the dataset is still in draft form.

5. Disable Private URL

If you want to disable the private URL, click '"Edit Dataset", then click "Private URL". Later, click "Disable Private URL.
