The High Performance Computing Service (HPC) is directed at universities and research centers (academic use) and at businesses (industrial use).
Academic use
Terms
Academic access to our HPC resources is available to
- Research groups affiliated with any of the Catalan Universities or Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) centres in Catalonia.
- Any other research group in Spain.
Computational resource prizes are subsidised for academic users thanks to the sponsorship of:
- Direcció General de Recerca (DGR) , for academic users in Catalonia.
- Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad , for other academic users in Spain.
Conditions
Academic users certify that all the data provided are truthful and must abide by the following conditions:
- The purchased resources are for research purposes only. CSUC supercomputing resources may not be used for illegal, commercial and/or for-profit activities.
- The access account is personal and non-transferable, and it is not allowed to share it with a third party. The user is responsible for all activities carried out with their account.
- It is necessary to acknowledge the use of CSUC resources in all publications and activities resulting from their use, including the following sentence in the acknowledgements "This project was carried out with the use of CSUC supercomputing resources".
- All publications and/or activities resulting from the use of the infrastructure must be reported annually through the appropriate channels.
Test project conditions
In addition to the conditions numbered above, test projects are also subject to the following:
- The test project is limited to one (1) use per research project.
- For 3 months, the project has at its disposal up to 50,000 free UCs to perform the tests required to prepare the work environment and evaluate the suitability of the service to the project's needs.
- The data obtained during the test project cannot be used in publications or commercial activities.
