This is a list of the international projects we are currently involved in.
GENIUS (Gaia European Network for Improved User Services)
Gaia is an international project by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the for-purpose organisation Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC), launched in 2013 with the goal of compiling a detailed 3D survey of our galaxy, the Milky Way, registering the position, velocity, rotation and spectroscopic details of around a billion stars. This large-scale, detailed mapping of the galaxy will also provide a sheer amount of astronomic data for other applications, such as theoretical astronomy or fundamental physics.
GENIUS is a companion effort that focuses on implementation of Gaia analysis codes, facilitation of Gaia-related know-how, scientific outreach, and public access to and dissemination of Gaia findings.
NUMEXAS (Numerical Methods and Tools for Key Exascale Computing Challenges in Engineering and Applied Sciences)
NUMEXAS is a project funded by the European Commission to identify and assess emerging challenges in exaflop-scale high performance computing, evaluate the application of state-of-the-art methods and computational tools to exascale problems, and develop new numerical methods and code to ensure escalability into hundreds of thousands of cores.
CloudFlow (Computational Cloud Services and Workflows for Agile Engineering)
CloudFlow is an European project that aims at developing a cloud computing infrastructure to bring together small and medium sized software vendors (especially for engineering and manufacturing) and their clients through a single-point-of-access web interface. This interface allows to set-up, schedule and launch different applications in HPC machines, assemble different applications in complex workflows to apply calculated outcomes as inputs in further calculations, and manage and analyse the results.
